Snowing Again....

Well, it's hard to get excited about Spring and warm weather when this is what you wake up to. Yep, it's snowing yet again. And as I look out the window right now, it is really coming down. After this Winter, I think we get to be snow-exempt next year!! I'm sure we won't get 16 inches today like they had in my parent's hometown last Friday, but it's white enough!

I got a nasty cold over the weekend, and am finally feeling better. I even called in sick Monday to work. Slept part of the day and also did some knitting. I am working on my Swirl sock by Monica and it is my new favorite sock pattern. It's one that came with The Loopy Ewe Sock Club, so I don't think it will be available for purchase until next year (if I understand correctly), but it's definitely one I recommend when it does become available.
I have to say, I don't know how some people get so many pairs of socks done. I must be extremely slow!! There is a gal that Sheri interviewed in The Loopy Limelight who does 3 pair a week!!! She must knit in her sleep!

I purchased a new book last week which is full of fun patterns using cables. (I LOVE cables!) I heard about it from Monica who actually has 2 of her patterns in the book!! Congratulations to Monica!! Lots of patterns I want to try in the future. Just need more knitting time!

Well, less than 3 weeks left until April 15th and the end of tax season! Yeah! I will be ready to be done. Hopefully I'll have more time for knitting, spinning, cooking etc...

Until Next Time....

PS - BIG news from our son, A last night. He applied and was accepted into a class next Fall which includes a 2 week trip to Antartica in December! There were only 14 students chosen and he was one of them. He is VERY excited to say the least. (And Steve is VERY jealous to say the least!) Way to go, A!!

Your Swirl Sock is so pretty! As soon as I finish my Croc Socks, I'm going to work on my Swirls. Congrats A!

I love your swirl sock and I am
amazed at the amount of knitting
that you get done with everything
else that you do. I think that
you keep up with the best of them.
Do you realize how many knitting
projects you get accomplished?
You need to give yourself more credit.

Love your sock - bummer that the rest of us have to wait! I too have ordered "Monica's Book" and can't wait for it to arrive. Congrats to your son.

Yuck, spring colds are the worst! Drink some tea and sit and knit... that is what the the doctor orders!!

I will keep an eye out for that book. I like cables too!

Yeah!!!! for A!! That is soooo cool!! Will he supply pictures for your blog? Pretty Please?

Gosh, what I could do with more knitting time! I could be lovely!

I love cables too! I might need to look into that book. And, don't worry about knitting socks slowly - I'm pretty slow myself - but must figure out how to get more done as I need to work down my large stash...

And, I didn't know you did tax work. Hope the cold goes away and you feel better soon! : )

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I finished the first of my Swirl socks today. I am debating between casting on a different pair or making the mate. Way to go A. How exciting.

I am glad you are feeling better. We have had that nasty bug here too. Don't hate me for saying this but it was warm enough yesterday to open a window or two, and let some fresh air in. I was hoping to blow some of the cold germs out.

I know you are sick of the snow, but let me tell you, I am just as sick of the rain here. It just never seems to stop.

Congrats to A. I have to say, I am with Steve in being jealous.

Thanks for all the kind words and plugs : )

The weather is a real bummer, isn't it! We didn't have snow (well, a dusting) but it was cold, rainy and sleeting all day. Glad you are feeling better - there is so much stuff going around right now. Your sock is great - and I'm with you, I don't know how some people get them done so fast. I feel like I knit and knit and knit to do just one sock! Oh, and congrats to A, that sounds exciting!

ps. Thanks for the shawl compliment! I did get that done fairly quickly but I was kind of obsessed with the whole "I must have it for Easter" idea. : )

Oh my about your son, that's fantastic!!

Winter seems to want to hang on here too, in fact some light snow is falling right now. It can't last much longer!

Come on April 15th!

Hope you've gotten that cold all taken care of by now. I hate missing work when I'm really sick. It seems like such a waster:)

Your swirl socks are so neat. I take way to long knitting socks. I had a fieldtrip yesterday, and talked to one of my fellow teachers for two hours on the bus instead of knitting as I had planned.
