That was my nickname for a few hours when my false front tooth decided to fall out just an hour before we had 4 couples over for dinner. Makes for a long evening when you are trying not to talk; laugh; smile or eat. Fortunately Sumo loves me no matter what!! I went to the dentist this morning and he fixed it temporarily so I can at least go out in public. The biggest bummer is that the Tooth Fairy didn't show. (I think she's at a wheat convention somewhere, right mom?)
It's a very strange feeling. Brought back memories of loosing teeth when I was a child.
I finished knitting the Lucy bag just in time for my talk yesterday. I think it's going to be a nice color combination once it's felted. I'll be giving it to one of my BFF's! (I think she knows who she is...) I won't be able to felt it until after my next talk on the 28th. It's always hard to wait because felting them is so fun.
I had a another new experience yesterday as I was getting ready for our friends to come over... I cut my first Mango ever. I really mangled the first one, but by the time I had cut my fourth one, I was feeling pretty confident. They really are tasty!! What was I doing with my mangos?
Making Mango Salsa!! Yum! A friend had shared this recipe, and I decided to make it for our appetizer for our dinner. Since I seem to be doing more cooking that knitting lately, I thought I would share this recipe. My friend Tami made up the recipe and was gracious enough to let me share it with you.
Mango Salsa
3 mangos
3 red, yellow or orange peppers
1 small red onion
Juice from 2 limes
Cilantro
1. Chop up the mangos, peppers and onions. Tear apart the cilantro leaves.
2. Throw the mangos, peppers and 1/2 of the chopped onion together and five or six leaves of cilantro.
3. Add a couple tablespoons of lime juice. I usually
taste at this point to make sure one ingredient isn't too strong.
4. Add in more onion, lime juice and/or cilantro to taste.
Well, I'm off for an overnight to Des Moines. Lots of exciting stuff coming next week as I head to St. Louis early Tuesday morning for the Spring Fling!
Have a great weekend!
Until Next Time....

Too bad about the tooth fairy:-(
The mangosalsa looks really yummi- I might have to save that recipe!
Have a nice weekend:-)
Hey, the Tooth Fairy was here in NJ. That's why she couldn't get over to you... Miss J lost two teeth this week, it kept the Tooth Fairy over here on the East Coast. Can you believe it? 2 in 1 week???
I cannot wait to make my Lucy Bag. I have my pattern all ready to go... will a bulky yarn work? Or should I follow the directions and use the sport weight? I have some Bulky Cestari from my Chunky Cables that I would love to use. Hmmmmm
Ok, I guess I should just run over to my LYS... you are twisting my arm. :)
Stuff like that never happens at a convenient time, does it! (at least it didn't happen an hour before the wedding!!) That mango salsa sounds like a great summertime recipe.
Enjoy your overnight!! (and we'll want to hear lots of details about the spring fling!)
That's awful about your tooth, but I'm sure glad you got it fixed so soon...temporary or not :)
Your mango salsa looks delicious :)
That is too bad about your tooth.
The Lucy looks wonderful.
Yummy Mangos, we love them here at our house.
I think the tooth fairy should show for every one. :~)
Have lots of fun at the Spring Fling!!!
you are too funny with your missing tooth-- as for the mangoes, i'm a total addict. they're just the best thing on earth, i wish there was a way to get every last bit off that pit!
Hey Billy Bob Momma! I finally tried to cook something other than pre-cooked food by making chicken and gravy as well as beer bread, and it turned out really well. Glad you had those recipes on your blog. Love ya.
