Speechless Again....

Just when I was starting to get my voice back again (after losing it to a nasty virus) I got this package in the mail which left me speechless again! Anne (who was the recipient of my Monkey socks) sent me this package as a 'Thank You' and it included a pair of handknit socks!! Plus some M&M's (she's read my blog!) and a wonderful hand written note. I was totally overwhelmed! Thanks so much, Anne!

I have still been battling this virus! It's a nasty one. It's been a bummer in many ways. 1). Kirstin is home for the weekend and I hate being sick when she's here! 2). I haven't even been able to do much knitting, which is a bummer. One would think when one is sick you should be able to just curl up and knit...but it never works out that way when you're sick. You feel too rotten to do anything! 3). I had to cancel a hair cut and highlight appointment that I booked 6 weeks ago (because that is how long it takes to get in!) Now I'll be scrambling with what to do with my hair until I can get another appointment!!

I did manage to finish my Monkey socks! They are washed and ready to wear, which is very exciting. I know I need to branch out and do another pattern, but I may have to cast on another pair of Monkey socks just for fun. I mean, that is, of course, after I finish my other socks.

I am making a little progress on my second Peppermint Mocha sock. I'm feeling a bit better today and hoping to work a little more on it while watching some football perhaps. I'm enjoying this yarn, the pattern is just a little boring. Yep. Need to cast on another pair of Monkeys.....

Sumo has been getting all kinds of extra attention this weekend. Steve gave him a nice bath and brush and then he and Kirstin took him for a long walk.

And lots of extra petting. I usually don't like to pet him in the house because his hair goes EVERYWHERE! But he's just so darn cute and hard to resist. Besides, I read once that petting a dog relieves stress!

Well, back to the couch.

Until Next Time....

Sorry to hear you're not well. I do hope you get better very soon!

Your monkey socks look great - think I'm going to have to knit that pattern. Every pair I've seen on people's blogs look so cool.

What a nice thank you gift! You will have a whole wardrobe of hand-knit socks before long. Hope you feel better soon. When we all got sick in Aug it took forever to get back to 100% - hope you do better than we did!

You are welcome. I am glad you like them and I hope they fit.
I love the Zenzi monkey socks. Is that the name of the yarn or colorway?
I hope you are feeling better.

I wish you the speediest of recoveries - being sick is no fun at all. The socks look great. I've always found that dogs make good sick buddies - they just want to cuddle up, which is often what's needed.
