Still Offline

Well, our internet has been down now since last Saturday and I am realizing how dependent I am on it, and am feeling quite disconnected in so many ways. I finally got off work a little early today (5 p.m.) and packed up the laptop and am now sitting at Panera trying to catch up on emails; blogs; ravelry; paying bills etc.. Probably should have worn my P.J.'s and just spent the night!!

Yes, winter continues. Yesterday it was 40 below zero here with the windchill. 40 below. That's just crazy. I'm ready to ask Allison if she has a guest room I can rent out there in California! (Her blog is always full of beautiful flower pictures.. go check out the daffodils!!) I'm pretty sure she won't be jealous of my ice laden icicle lights hanging from my roof!!

But sunshine comes in many forms! This week I was honored to be one of Sheri's first Loopy Legends with a yarn colorway named just after me!! It is called 'Janice's Sunshine in Winter' and is beautiful! She is sending me a skein and I can't wait to knit it into something special!

I also received the last installment of the inaugural year of the Loopy Ewe Sock Club. All of the yarns and patterns have been great. I'm looking forward to collecting the ones from this coming year as well!! I think Sumo feels their should be a little doggy treat included in the package since he isn't allowed the Loopy kisses that are always included!

Not much else to report. Life is pretty much consumed with W2's; 1099's; Itemized Deductions etc... But it's all good.

Oh, and if you enjoy seeing baby lambs, check out Rohanknitter's blog.... scroll down to see some adorable pictures of the recent deliveries on their farm. There are some especially cute pictures of some triplets with one of the barn cats!! Too cute!!

Next post I'll have the finished Ballband bag and Lucy bag to show. Until then, stay warm!

Until Next Time.....

Boy I just hate when I'm without internet, I feel like I'm crippled without it. (it's pathetic)

This winter just seems to go on and on, doesn't it! I'm really hoping it warms up a bit before the next round of baby animals!

I love that Loopy Legend yarn - it's all so pretty. I was totally stalking The Loopy Ewe that day, so I was able to scoop some up. I'm one of the many that wanted into the 08 sock club and didn't make it, so I'm planning to have my own little Loopy Ewe club and just treat myself every now and then.
; )

Hope your internet is up and running soon!

Aaaaaaa now that explains a lot... I was wondering where you were... :) Missed you!

We have, yet *another* snow day here... We do not get as much snow here, and the temps are not as low... but what we do get, combined with the hills and small roads makes for dangerous driving. All these snow days make winter seem so much longer. Guess I will just have to bust out the flour, eggs, sugar and butter to make something yummy in the oven. My DD Miss J's friend will be getting dropped off for day, so her mom can go to work. I think I will make the Valentine's cookies that you made. They will LOVE that.
I do hope to get some knitting in...

How did the felting work out on your bags?

Give a snuggle to Sumo!

I was wondering if that Janice was you. Congratulations. Stay warm. It is supposed to be better this weekend. Is there any good yarn shops in Des Moines????

Congrats on your own colorway. How exciting. But poor Sumo, I'm going to bring him some treats to the Spring Fling. He deserves them.

OMG that seems sooooo cold! You are absolutely welcome to come visit me in California and stay in our guest room for as long as you want. Just bring Sumo - the kids would love him! My middle daughter would actually love the icycles - when we went to Oregon for thanksgiving she kept looking for some! I saw the announcement about the legends colorways the other day and wondered if there would be one for you but couldn't find it. Glad you left the link - I just bought some! It will remind me of you and it's also perfect CAL colors (that's UC California Berkeley for you non-fans!) I'll try to send warm thoughts your way.

Hi Janice, I guess you do have some snow. We are in the middle of a snow storm right now. One of many we've had this winter. Just wanted to thank you for the yarn cupcakes link. I ordered them this morning. Congratulation on your Loopy Legends. Mickie

OH my gosh, I am lost without the internet, and to think 2 years ago I couldn't care less about it.

I know I am crazy, but I am a bit envious of the winter you have had. We will get a little snow and then the next day it is in the 50's or 60's and it is all gone. We have actually had snow on the ground most of the week this past week :)

Saw you ballband bag on ravelry it is beautiful.
