I Don't Get It.......

So, as many of you may remember, Sophie destroyed my swap package that came in the mail. While I was at the Spring Fling, she destroyed two packages that were delivered during that time. I decided to make a 'safe haven' for packages by putting a note on the front door and an enclosed plastic container on the front step for packages to be put in. The note asks that any package that DOES NOT fit inside the container NOT be left on the front step........

Well, yesterday we were going to be gone and I was expecting a package from UPS of a new knitting bag that I was told I 'needed' to have after the Fling! I was a little nervous, so I asked the neighbor girl if she would mind stopping by if she saw the UPS truck go by. It did; and she did; and this is what she found... the package sitting on TOP of the plastic container.....(It WOULD have fit inside.....) Fortunately she got here right away and saved it from the jaws of destruction. (i.e. Sophie)

She is a lucky puppy. I truly may have sold her had she destroyed my new knitting bag. (Pictured here with my striped tote I am still working on....) It was amazing how many things I came home from the Fling 'needing'. In fact, I may or may not have a drink holder that fits on my spinning wheel arriving any day......

I did finish spinning my fiber that I was working on at the Fling. Here it is. It's about 200 yards so I am looking for a fun project to make with it.

I immediately started spinning up another roving and am very excited about this one. I'm really starting to get the feel of the wheel. I have one more small section to spin and then to ply it together. I think I will try some alpaca next....

I mentioned that I would show a few of the items that came home with me from the Fling. I have to tell you that there are some of the most wonderful, thoughtful people there at the Fling. Here is just some of the presents that I was given over the course of the weekend. (Some chocolate may not be pictured as it may no longer exist......)

Sophie even got a package of her own which included treats; bubbles and this fun toy which she immediately de-faced. At least now it matches all of her other toys.....

Sumo has no need for toys. Just give him a skein of homespun yarn to rest his head on and he's good...... (And Sophie is suppose to share the treats with him. PatQ said so!!)

Until Next Time....

You should have a word with that mailman and explain further the situation. Bribe him with some fingerless gloves for winter if you have to...

At least Sophie is consistent with her stuffed toys.

I have the problem that sometimes different UPS or FedEX guys don't know the code to my building so they leave the package outside in the rain in front of the door. This really got to me when it was a package containing over $1000 of yarn for my business. I can't wait until I move and have a front porch!

Nice goodies btw. =)

Very pretty spinning! UPS in known to leave my packages all over, it drives me crazy. Good thing Sophie didn't rip into your new Tom Bihn bag! I'd love to know what you think of it once you've had a chance to test drive it!

I took Dany and Maria yarn shopping today and we had a great time. I even got some gifts from them if you know what I mean. And Maria bought three drop spindles and we watched her in awe using them.

Your handspun looks great Janice. You might try a neckwarmer or cowl. I have made a couple out of my handspun.

Looks like you got great stuff at the Fling. I am curious, do you ever leave Sheri without "something" coming home with you?? I know I probably couldn't do it.

You got the exact same Tom Bihn bag as me!! I love it! Wish we were back at the "Fling" much more fun than real life! Remember that invitation to come here for Rhinebeck is a genuine one!! You would have the guest room that's filled with yarn!

Your spinning is really coming along! I second the motion that you need that bag. I have a Swift myself, and I love it! It took me a while to warm to it, but now I would not trade it for anything.

p.s. It was nice to meet you at the fling.

Sophie doesn't look like a "little girl" anymore! Hilarious that the UPS man didn't read your very clear sign! I have a knitting question for you: Have you ever knit 2 socks at a time on a single long circular needle??? I seem to remember you doing something with socks and circs but couldn't remember whether you used 1 or 2 circs. I am wanting to try the single circ with 2 socks. If you have used this method, do you have any pointers??? Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback on the socks - I am going to try doing 2 at a time on one circ. We'll see how it goes! :-) Also, I forgot to mention I almost hyperventilated when I saw the picture of the "yarn wall" - such a thing of wonderous and luscious beauty!!! LOL!
