Angora....

Well, I need some suggestions as to what to do with this wonderful 'thing' of Angora yarn... (Not sure what to call this.. it is huge!). Someone had given this to my mom and she brought it to me when they visited last week. I thought it might be fun to try dying some of it. Hmmm.....

I was able to finish another Irishing Hiking Hat. I did a longer rib at the beginning and really like the look. I'm going to try the next one on slightly smaller needles. I am learning that I am a very loose knitter... (Sumo was being rather shy and did not want to wear the hat. Something about the color not being quite right.....)

I also decided it was time to attempt another Irish Hiking Scarf, now that I have done the two hats. I have tried unsuccessfully to knit one in the past. I'm hoping that I'll have better luck this time around. I do love the look of cables and I think this scarf is especially nice. So far it is going pretty well. Ultimately I would love to try a cabled sock pattern....

Well, I will make this a short post as I need to finish packing for my early morning flight to Ohio for the National NeedleArts Association Convention that I will be attending with my friend Sheri from the Loopy Ewe. I am really looking forward to an awesome weekend. Saturday morning I will be taking a class from Cat Bordhi on making a Moebius basket... I'll be sure and take pictures and blog about it next week.

Well, Sumo does want to thank everyone for their kind comments on his post last time. (And kudos to those fellow animal blog stars who played along!!) He is happy to let everyone know that he has now successfully graduated all of his 'kids'! What a great accomplishment! I think he kind of feels he deserves a diploma of his own!!

Until Next Time....

The Irish hiking pattern is really great. The hat looks wonderful and warm, so does the scarf.
Have a great weekend

Such a cute pic of the grad and the dog. Smart ones you've got there.

That yarn looks so soft, but I'd have to ask for suggestions, too.

I think you should knit something in lace. I am also so jealous because that sounds like lots of fun. Have a great weekend.

Congratulations to the newest grad in your family. Must be a bitter sweet feeling with your baby having graduated. I'll be doing the school thing for a while yet as my baby is only 12. Have a wonderful time at the needlework convention. Sounds like fun :) That angora yarn looks very interesting...will be waiting to see what you find to make with that!

happy knitting :)
